ADD TO WISHLIST >

Corporate wars, shadow ops, cranial jacks, cyber-augmentations… you’ve been here before. You know how this goes.

But familiarity breeds sloppiness and sloppiness will get you dead with a capital ‘P’ for Permanent. So you’ve got no excuses. You have a team, you have a boss, and that boss just gave you a job.

Take whatever you need: weapons, micro-drones, dark-ware, pharma-derms, stealth gear... Just get it done. Because the particulars may change but the bottom line is the same: bring the package back or don’t come back at all.Welcome to New Kowloon, 2069. Now get to work.

***

EXPLOIT ZERO - Cyberpunk Espionage and Mayhem.

A table top war game set during the Corporate Wars of 2069 in the mega-city of New Kowloon.  Miniatures agnostic.

1 - 6 Players, Co-op or Solo Mode. Made for 15mm - 28mm miniatures.

Grab your friends, create a team of elite Agents, and select a mission. It's time to run-n-gun.

Are there any changes between "Hardwired" and this edition, besides the name?

Hello there,

Page 26, Drone Configuration table states you can stock any two of the following items in the Felix Magic Bag : Micro-Grenades, Pharma-Derms, CW Macros. Does it mean that CW Macro tales only 1/2 Equipment slot ? (it isn't stated in page 21)

Many thanks !

Exploit Zero replaces Hardwired, yes? Why the name change?

From his website:
*note Exploit Zero was formerly titled Hardwired. The title has been changed to avoid any trademark entanglements with a certain 1989 supplement for the old version of the Cyberpunk RPG.

What to purchase for a solo player? this or Hardwired: Hostile Takeover? Or both?
I don't want to play with people. Only solo.

This one. Hostile Takeover is for competitive play not solo.

Quick question, on Page 21 of the PDF, the rules make reference to a master list. But the box (I'm assuming it's the master box) is missing. Unless I'm missing something :P

Hi Adam,
Suggested mission area is 3' x 3'. You can go 4' x 4' for longer, larger games. Model count depends on if you recycle casualties. I suggest 5 Agents, 1 of each class. Then 10 D6 quality H-SEC, 8 D8 level, and 6 D10 level troops. That ought to cover most games, providing you consistently eliminate H-SEC forces.

Hey, Patrick!

Would it be too much to ask to make the lovely color cover (as featured on this page) the actual cover of the PDF? Or maybe at least add it as a separate download? My coil-bound print-out doesn't look nearly as classy with just the plain text cover. I know of at least one other guy who feels the same way. :)

Ah, my apologies. I'm working on it. PDF/Images seem to have different formatting requirements at WargameVault. I'll figure it out and either add it to the existing pdf or put it as a separate file.

Uploaded the color cover as a separate, single page download at BGG just now. Slammed this weekend but I'll carve out some time to add/update the file here. Thanks for letting me know.

Question: Do d10 HSEC get d10/d10/d10 or d6/d8/d10?

All D10s. H-SEC dice and actions increase with quality. Level 1: 1 Action with D6. Level 2: 2 Actions with D8. Level 3: 3 Actions with D10.

Would you do me a favor and double check the H-SEC section? I thought it was clear but if it needs a detailed explanation, I should update and clarify.

I mean, it does say that their rating (eg. d6, d8, d10) identifies the die types used, but with only Agents as context, one might assume that a d8 rated guy gets a d6 and a d8. The only reason I didn't default to that was that it would make for too many NPC decisions. Also, and I suppose this falls under the same umbrella, it might be useful to point out that H-SEC defends with the same die as well. (They do, right?)

"H-SEC forces are classed by Die Types: D6 H-SEC, D8 H-SEC, and D10 H-SEC. This identifies both their die types used for in-game Actions as well as the number of Actions allowed: 1 Action for D6, 2 Actions for D8, and 3 Actions for D10 types, respectively. H-SEC forces resolve their Actions the same as Agents, hoping for a success of 4+ on the relevant Die Type, plus or minus any relevant modifiers."

I suppose I see where you might assume that. I'll make a note for the FAQ. Thanks.

How do the Co-op and Solo modes work?

The enemy forces just follow simple rules. Target nearest agent, stay in cover, repeat until dead. Also, try to ruin the agents' mission. There's some common sense involved. Enemies also spawn constantly and bigger enemies show up each turn.

Co-op is the all players versus the Table/waves of Hostile Security, who as Jason mentioned, follow simple rules of engagement. The H-Sec AI/rules all ow for Solo mode where the Player runs Agents and H-Sec. I aimed for simplicity and erred on the side of gamer's common sense.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
