FEAR OF THE DARK skirmish wargame What an easy to learn yet beautiful ruleset! Strong narrative oriented scenarios that reminds my somewhat mansions of madness and the choose your own adventure books. David captured very well the deep ambience of HP Lovecraft. The mechanics are easy to learn but they are very solid and the game itself invites you to expand the game with new rules and to adapt it to differents periods.

Of Silence & Shadow - A Dark Fantasy Skirmish Wargame (web edition)

Of Silence & Shadow - A Dark Fantasy Skirmish Wargame (web edition) I'm an avid skirmish game collector (especially fantasy) and I decided to bought it even though there are no information about. I state that is the first time I write a review, but I think is necessary. I own many rulesets, trying to find the holy grail. I don't like some, I like some and I like very much very few, but almost all are well thought. Mostly are subjective opinions: i.e. BoB Epic Heroes is a great game but too complex for me... Here we are on a level completely different. Core rules are condensed in less than 9 page and seem the first draft of someone that has no clear ideas. It's a try to mix Frostgrave and RoSD, but using d20 too would be too much and so, If I understood the pool dice mechanics, (the most important rule explained in 1 line...) the Goalsystem dynamic is borrowed. The only good idea is allowing character progression for all characters, but as for many other things is not clear since is all bad written, bad explained (almost absent examples) ...

Urban Manhunt Companion

Urban Manhunt Companion I really, really like this system. The setting, the pre-generated hunters and crims and the rule fit together. The rules for hunter creation offer great room for creative implementation of self thought out hunters. The companion adds more of this really good stuff. Blind buy for fans of the core game...Cynthia, keep up your great work - I am really looking forward to the career mode add on.

Industrial Sector Battle Mat #1

Industrial Sector Battle Mat #1 **Brilliant!** This was an exceptionally useful piece of kit. The colours were vibrant without being overpowering. The features and textures were specific and interesting without being too definite and reducing the options for use. It is available in one of the alt files provided as pages of pdf. I printed about 12, glued and taped and used the resulting battlemap for a skirmish game set in a shanty town built on an area of post-industrial blight, with great results. Really generous price and I'm extremely pleased with the purchase....

Squad Hammer Core - Peoples Edition

Squad Hammer Core - Peoples Edition Squad Hammer is amazing for two huge reasons. One, it is a great lighter slirmish game that is great for gerting any minis to the table quick. Squads, monters, tanks, mechs, indivdual heroes... all here. Mix and Match at will without worry of imbalance. The combat system is quick but still favors tactical smarts, weapons, and gear over standing in the open going rambo. Second, it is an amazing foundation to create ANY setting, any unit, only limited by your imagination. A great little gem from NWG. ...

Squad Hammer Core - Peoples Edition

Squad Hammer Core - Peoples Edition This is hands down one of the best "engines" for smaller & larger skirmishes. It's incredible elegant in mechanics and allows for a very tactical gameplay experience. I would recommend this to anyone who has a couple of minis available and is interested in exploring different games than your typical grimdark franchiese. It's very rules light, easy to pick up and really inspiring to make it work for all kinds of settings.

Far Distant Ships

Far Distant Ships An interesting set of rules that contain some interesting ideas on sending signals from the commander to other admirals. They are let down by not being complete and clearly not play tested with players remote from the author's sphere. (A trait that seems to go through all games I have bought from them.) I have entered a few questions raised by my first read through and initial game. Let's see how this progresses. Having played a fair few games now, the problems just seem to be magnified. So many instances cropped up that we had to make up own own rule for (in the spirit of the existing rules) we decided against continuing with them. So thanks for the effort, but I really think we will be moving on to other rules from now on....

Saloon Fate Deck Honestly a bit underwhelming, the numbers and symbols are badly placed so you don't see all the infos when you have cards in hand in a typical spread, and the "sexy" artwork looks like something a teenager would draw.

Stalingrad Ruins - Set I

Stalingrad Ruins - Set I Nice set of ruined buildings. Loses a star for scaling issues- they are sold as 100%=15mm scale, but that's clearly not the case- a 15mm miniature would bang his head walking into the factory, which obviously shouldn't be the case. Would probably be ideal for 10mm, and useable for 6mm, or scale to 144% for real 15mm miniatures. Good value for money, despite this.

Chrome Hammer Ascension This is a great skirmish game with some very unique mechanics. It takes a bit to get used to the layout of the rulebook but it is well worth it. Stealth isnt just a roll or a simple concept, but an integral part of the game. Some of the fanstay stuff is a bit odd for the theme, and I would have prefer a little more traditional with the fantasy as extra, but overall, this is easily one of the best solo skirmish game on the market. It slims down the 5 parsecs RPG aspect while still creatimg an amazing narrarive and campaign. Easily 5 stars. ...

Chrome Hammer Ascension This is a gem! The game is full lovely funny details and fun references. It's based on the great Squad Hammer Engine (check it out aswell) which leads to fun, tactical and fast flowing games. The campaign system is very detailed and it's great fun to roll up a gang of punks and fight some evil CEOs
